In Progress: Dining Room Re-do

Little by little, we have been updating our dining room. I say "we," since it was my husband, who initiated the purchasing of our dining room set. Prior to this, we were using a party table and chairs.....yes, the ones you use at family bar-b-ques....as our lovely dining room table.
Still looking for a picture of the old, original dining room, but this is from the second update that I tried to do.

Since, I have repainted downstairs, it's looking so much brighter! Our buffet table, that I purchased from Rooms to Go's Clearance area (back of the store), is looking even finer these days under the industrial pipe shelves. I got the idea from Pintrest, and I thought it added so much interest to the room.
It wasn't that hard to install, either.
1. After letting the paint dry for a couple of weeks, I measured out to find the center of the wall. From there, I marked with an "X" where the studs were located with my stud finder.
2. I measured my buffet table, then used my former Math teacher skills to find where the table would center to the wall.
3. I looked over my "x's" and figured out which three would be in the center of my buffet's central location. Then I used the flats of the pipe sets to circle the holes in the wall.
4. I wanted to make sure the shelf was sturdy, so I made sure the one-half of the four nail holes lined up on a stud. The other two I would use sheet rock anchors to secure to the wall.
5. Then I drilled! Had a little trouble with one of the nails, but I was able to get all the screws in place. After stepping back to look at the pipes, there were a couple of things I would have done differently: (1) actually fully peeled the price labels off of the pipes, and (2) used dark screws (however, the silver ones add to the rustic, hand-done feel, so it's not so bad).

The paint color on the feature wall is called Wicker from Sherwinn Williams. The main color in the entire space is called , also, from Sherwinn Williams.
Well, It's still not complete, as I just recently visited an Antique store here in Houston, Texas, and I found SOOOOO many interesting things. It was quite overwhelming. However a few things caught my eye, and one of them were the antique serving trays. They reminded me of the ones I used to see in my Great-Great Aunt Rena's house in Oglethorpe, GA.
My plan is to flank each side and the top of these shelves with these beautiful serving trays, just to add a little vintage feel to the scene. I think it's going to look great!
